Real-time simulation of physical systems

Efficient collision detection for rigid and soft bodies
Accurate collision detection at real-time rates is a difficult problem, especially if the objects keep changing shape. Research and development towards a universal real-time collision engine for use in iCinema´s integrated virtual environment will be conducted. Novel and experimental approaches are welcome.
Prerequisites: Strong mathematics or physics

Rigid and soft body dynamics
For too long virtual worlds have been artificially rigid and, as a consequence, somewhat sterile. It is hoped that by implementing a soft-body dynamics engine in iCinema´s integrated virtual environment, a certain amount of life can be injected into our virtual environments. Work towards the real-time simulation of simple physical phenomena such as:

rigid body dynamics, leading on to…
soft body dynamics, leading on to…
soft / skeletal dynamics with muscle structures
cloth and hair simulation
synthetic creatures
Priority is placed on the visual fidelity of the simulation of these phenomena.
Knowledge required: Strong maths or physics. 3D graphics.
